In 2016 the Kendallville News Sun reported that 72.9% of the Noble County population had no religious affiliation. This stirred the hearts of a small group of people who wanted to make a difference for Jesus in the Kendallville area. A launch team of like-minded people formed that quickly grew to 16 families.
Legacy Church launched its first public services on September 11th, 2016, at the Cole Center YMCA. Office space was leased on Main Street across from Jeny’s Taco’s. A partnership quickly formed with the Crew Youth Center to reach and build up the teenagers in our community. Legacy church slowly started to grow and become the church God called us to be in our early years.
Legacy Church was a portable church for our first five years at the Cole Center YMCA. After years of partnership and communication, Harvest Community Church, which was a block south of the YMCA, decided to merge with Legacy Church. After strategic planning and many volunteer hours to renovate the building for growth our first service at our current location happened on Easter Sunday, 2022.
Legacy Church continues to grow and strive to be the church God calls us to be. We are made up of people with many different backgrounds and our goal is to meet people where they are and to move them to where God wants them to be! We hope you’ll come visit us and we pray that you're encouraged and refreshed in the strong and powerful name of Jesus when you do.
